I got a call from my neighbor a few days ago. He knows I have something to do with dog feeders, so I think I was his last-ditch effort to figure something out. He’s got a little problem that’s causing some big damage. That little problem is not only digging ankle-breaking holes in his yard, it’s also eating every stitch of dog and cat food they have – which I assume is why I got the call.
Apparently, back when it all started, it worked fine to just have bags of dog food and cat food in one of those outside plastic storage bins, but the critters figured out how to get into it. So, they switched to a larger garbage can with a lid…and the crazy things have figured out how to get the lid off. So, not a chance of the food lasting long in a dog food bowl. Now he needs something to put the food in that’s really pest-proof.
I’m guessing the culprit is probably a possum, due to the status of the yard…but I guess it could be skunks too, or maybe even a raccoon. I think some night-vision video is in order…but that’s beside the point. Whatever it is, he doesn’t want it messing up the yard OR eating the dog and cat food…so he was looking for a little assistance from yours truly.
I don’t know much about getting rid of possums, skunks or the likes, but I’m your man when it comes to keeping them out of the dog food. PetPro metal feeders are specially designed for problems just like this – specifically for keeping pests out of the dog food. I would go so far to say that they are pest-proof feeders. Strong magnets keep the doors shut and small critters out.
It’s likely that access to the dog and cat food may be the reason these guys are visiting every night…so if they can’t get to it, maybe, just maybe they’ll move on to another yard. Here’s hoping they won’t try mine out. They’ll be sorely disappointed about the dog food situation, since of course, I’ve got PetPro feeders.
Side note..my neighbor did order a small pet feeder for his cats and a large dog feeder for his dogs. Once he gets them installed I’ll give a report.
